Welcome to Nassau Hiking and Outdoor Club
Who We Are, Why We Are Different
The Nassau Hiking and Outdoor Club (NHOC) is a vibrant, non-profit organization based on Long Island with more than 200 members who share a love for exploring the outdoors across Nassau, Suffolk, New York City, Westchester and other surrounding states. The club has been in existence since 1966.
NHOC is more than a hiking club—it’s a lively community that merges diverse outdoor adventures, environmental engagement and rich social experiences in a way few other Long Island clubs do.
In addition to weekly hikes, NHOC members can join in cycling, picnics, kayaking, canoeing and fun social gatherings such as the Holiday Dinner Dance, Summer Picnic and “Thanksgiving on the Trail.” Members gather for movie nights and overnight trips, plus can attend custom made outings to museums, theatres, concerts, and more designed especially for the club.
Hikes are rated by difficulty (“A” hard to “C” easy), for both casual walkers and serious hikers.
